I didn't use #1000 of sand bags in my camaro, only about #300 (4x 70 each). I honestly can't say there was that much noticeable difference with them vs without them.

So far out here it's been a most unusual decemeber. Typically by the first week, the snow tires get mounted. Granted I didn't have the car the first week, but it's the end, and a high of 50 is promised today. A small chill mon-wed, then back into upper 30's, low 40's toward's week's end. I'm sticking with summer tires for as long as I can (or until the first big snowfall).

 

Kinda messed up right? How non-winter this winter has been in Chicago.

I was looking forward to seeing how my G37X handled in the snow and there hasn't been any!

^ Same thing here in Cleveland. It has been really weird and everyone's been talking about it. We had snow on Tuesday, and that was about it. It's been unusually warm.

JSOLO, don't forget with the summer tires, their compound is not made for the lower temperatures. So even though there is no snow, 30s or lower should really negatively effect their performance and ability.

 

^^Agreed, I take it very easy for the first few miles. No sudden accel, braking, and especially cornering.
