2008 g37s coupe vs. 2011 g37x sedan
same thing happened to me when i had a 09 sedan x loaner felt alot faster than my coupe 11 x. it has to be the weight differance or people beat on that car so much its just a freak lol but i thinks its true the sedans will take the coupes in the 1/4 , from a roll it would be very close
On a serious note I did a few pulls with my sedan g37xs vs a coupe g37s and it was his nose to my back tire or further every time. That was probably the x vs the s though.
Only??? Try to search threads "g37 weight reduction" and read about the weight reduction vs. power mods and you will be very surprised!
As for me I can feel clearly when my tank is full and almost empty - acceleration also varies.

Whenever I took my coupe in to the dealership and got a loaner sedan the sedan seemed to have a much more aggressive throttle tip-in (as previously mentioned in this thread). There's a good chance that's responsible for what you're feeling.
Lots of poor assumptions in this thread....I think anyway. From the Infiniti site:
2012 G37S 2dr 6MT = 3710 lbs
2012 G37x 4drAWD = 3812 lbs
The 7AT does have lower first and second gears, which along with the torque converter could easily make the heavier sedan 'feel' stronger off the line. The AWD advantage will only come into play if you try to break traction - otherwise the 2WD is faster due to lower driveline losses.
