should i wait to install an aftermarket exhaust?
I agree with what everyone is saying here: your friend doesn't sound like he knows what he's talking about. No pun intended, but honestly.
Exhaust/intakes are the first mods you can really do. Upgrading your engine? Yeah, with either twin-turbo or a supercharger--those are about the only thing you can "upgrade your engine" with. Get yourself an exhaust! It's the best bang for the buck. Especially when you're talking Fast Intentions. Although if you getting the test pipes, you'll need a tune with all of it, and beware of significant interior resonance with them. Get an exhaust first, then go from there. Or intakes. But an exhaust is much for feelable and worthy.

here's a ? for you. ANMVQ stated that the rumor was headers weren't worth the $$$. how about high flow cats?
everything i've heard about the stock exhaust on the S's was that the oem cats choke the crap out of the flow.
so would high flow aftermarket cats be worth the cost?

hey, i was planning on purchasing and installing fast intention's carbon fiber exhaust
system with resonated test pipes. but i just got told from my friend that getting an aftermarket exhaust is the last thing i should do.
i was told i should get new headers and upgrade my engine.
also i dont plan to touch my engine because it will void my warranty.
will my exhaust sound and perform to its best?
should i put off getting an aftermarket exhaust to the very end?
thanks for your input guys, and yes i know im a noob

Your friend sounds like the guy that drives the pontiac grand am that THINKS he knows everything about cars and has plans to add the CHIP to his and claims it will keep up with M3s and smokes civics by 3 cars and will still pull bishes any night of the week.
Install the exhuast and get us sound clips and pics damn it!!!!!

you can do them in any order, not like you will mess anything up
i did my exhaust first
either way, there isnt much power to be squeezed out of these engines with simple bolt ons
i have also read that headers wont make much of a difference. not worth the headache of the install or the price to have it done

I agree a 100%
i did headers and i only gained 8ish hp, these cars already have a header on them fml i didnt know that until i saw behind the heat shield but i was like just do it. either way 530 plus 500 install with problems but i know the shop, then 200 for an o2 sensor, and i got lucky cuz they worked hard to get them to work but i still needed to get 1 becauase they got dethreaded when they backed them out and yes they heated them up but didnt matter. so fml 1300 was not worth 8 hp, i already had hfc and catback so ther wasnt much left to gain but still
Exhaust and intake are the first things you should do for car mods... And headers are part of the exhaust anyways, but arent really worth replacing, unless you want to spend the money for a little HP gain.
But def do exhaust and intake asap!
