should i wait to install an aftermarket exhaust?

hey, i was planning on purchasing and installing fast intention's carbon fiber exhaust
system with resonated test pipes. but i just got told from my friend that getting an aftermarket exhaust is the last thing i should do.
i was told i should get new headers and upgrade my engine.
also i dont plan to touch my engine because it will void my warranty.
will my exhaust sound and perform to its best?
should i put off getting an aftermarket exhaust to the very end?
thanks for your input guys, and yes i know im a noob

From: Framingham Ma,
Not sure how that works?? I got mine first then did my intakes( A week later) and thats all I did. Headers have been talked about on here and said not worth the $$$,, I wouldnt wait.. Wont matter at the end the car will make the same power after all said and done.

you can do them in any order, not like you will mess anything up
i did my exhaust first
either way, there isnt much power to be squeezed out of these engines with simple bolt ons

i have also read that headers wont make much of a difference. not worth the headache of the install or the price to have it done

It's really up to you. If you don't want to wait you can put the exhaust on now.

Fine, Ill be the one to say it. Doesn't sound like your friends really knows what he is talking about.

I did intake first. Doesn't really matter what order you do your mods in unless we are talking about a tune or drop then wheels. Pick what you want first and what you can afford. A lot of people would argue that a drop and wheels is the first mod you should do but that is a lot of money. I started with Intake, then exhaust, now coils and wheels will be next. Mod at your own pace. Good luck and keep us updated. Happy modding

My first thought as soon as I read the OP .

OP - Go get your exhaust and tell your friend he is an idiot.

First upgrade most folks do to their cars or trucks is an intake and exhaust. Do it now. No need to wait. Like the other post stated, those upgrades don't do a whole lot in terms of big performance gains. They do more for sound and looks. It's all good.

I say do whatever you feel like doing first. Like others say, there isn't a particular order. I actually did my exhaust first.

To add to the question about when to mod: Is it bad to get an intake & exhaust and not tune for a while? Wont you run lean so better to do that combo in a close time proximity?
