A/C Whine

Hey Everyone,

For a little while now I have noticed what seems to be an air conditioner motor whine. When I turn off the a/c it goes away. It comes and goes but I notice it most of the time. I couldn't find anything about anyone having problems with this online so I wanted to see if anyone else has had this same issue and if there is a simple fix for it without bringing it back to the dealer. Thanks for you help.

I have the same whine, and traced it to the AC just as you have done. I asked the dealer about it when I was in for an oil change, and guess what? They said it was normal. I really didn't expect anything different from them, but just in case it goes out after warrantee, I have a record of reporting the problem during the warantee period. The AC works fine in all respects. The noise is just annoying, but I can't really hear it if the radio is on to any volume.

It gets very annoying. While I do usually just drown it out with music, every once in a while I like to have a conversation with someone or just listen to the car. I might bring my car in to Sawgrass Infiniti over winter break to have them do some work. Maybe they can fix this.

I had that issue before too. You probably recently replaced your cabin air-filter. I just readjusted the air-filter because I put it in wrong and the sound disappeared.
