A/C or heat in the trunk area? 08 coupe 6MT

A/C or heat in the trunk area? 08 coupe 6MT
Whenever I have the a/c or heater on and go to the trunk to retrieve something, I can feel either in the trunk as well. Is this normal? I'm a bit new here, mostly researching.
