Is it normal to see the spoiler in rear view camera?
I just bought an IPL and this is the first car I've owned with a rear-view cam. When I throw it in reverse, I can see the spoiler, more accurately I see the bottom of the hole that is cut into the spoiler to house the camera. It's as if the cam is recessed further back (and different angle) than the eyelit in the spoiler.
I drove a sedan with standard trunk lip not too long ago and the cam only showed the road. I saw no part of the actual car.
In getting the IPL, I'm somewhat disappointed by seeing the spoiler. It's an eyesore. I would expect the cam to sit flush with the opening.
Is this normal for an IPL or cam-in-spoiler in general? I wonder if this is just the nature of having a spoiler vs. the normal trunk lip.
