I have a dilemma...
Hey guys, so I purchased an 08 G37 about 3 weeks ago. I thought it was a sport because of the features it had like sport seats, navi, back up camera, etc..but it didnt have the big brakes on it. Lately my brakes have been squeaking A LOT and its so annoying.
After thinking about the noisey brakes and how i thought it was a sport model, i thought to myself that maybe the previous owner swapped the brakes with one of his buddies. Then it all came together...the wheels i have on the car right now are from a sedan and not a coupe and i figured the brakes are squeaking because it wasnt professionally installed. Now i know the previous owner leased the vehicle and then swapped brakes with his buddy before returing the vehicle to the dealer...so is there anything i can do to get a new set of big brakes on it since the ones i have on arent original equipment??? and since the wheels are from the g37 sedan??? It just made me mad why someone would do that

Well, the dealer he returned it to can actually file charges against the previous owner, if he did in fact swap the brakes out, but you are SOL with having any kind of action brought against the dealer or the owner, unless the dealer grossly misrepresented the product before you bought it. And like BLUESLATE said, post pics of your car.

yup agreed, every manual is a spork package, the original owner can be fined trmemndously for replacing the calipers, not so much the rims and tires, but the brakes is a big issue. If it was represented as a sport package but missing the elements that make it a sport then you have a case. Something though you should have brought up at the time of purchase. But here is the positive thing, the dealership technically do not have to do anythgin but if you are persistant enough, and a big enough pain in the ***, not to mention to go public, reviews, newspapers about the issue, I bet they will do 1 of 2 things. Fix the issue or take the car back and give you all your money back (including all fees) Which dealership did you buy it from?
