Creeking Fixed
Creeking Fixed
Just fixed the horrible creeking sound coming from the suspension. It basically happened whenever the car started to go down. So on the downslope of a speed bump or hill or frankly anything.
Anyways, I was pretty sure it was the Hotchkiss sway bar and I finally got around to jacking it up and checking it out. Yep, that was it. Just take off the Zeta thing you can use to shoot grease in via a grease gun. I don't have one so I got a free injector from the drug store. Once you take it off there's a hole. Just inject some silicon grease and. . . you're done. Creaking is totally gone.

Sorry, yeah the zerk thing. At first I was just putting it in manually which is pretty annoying. Then it came to mind to use a syringe. That worked great. I'm actually pretty psyched. All my creaking has gone away.
i have that creek sound with my stock suspension. im wondering if it might be this.. dealership told me it was my painted calipers since some overspray got on the brake pad mounting spots which was in turn causing the creeking..

I think the factory sway bar does have a bracket (don't they all?). Look up the Hotchkiss sway bar for G37 and there's good instructions on how to get to the sway bar. It's super easy. Just take off the cover. Then put some silicon synthetic grease into the bracket and you are good to go. I gotta tell you, this is the happiest I've been with my car in like 6 months. Rides nice and quiet again. . . uh other then that stupid poorly built convertible roof of theirs; but that's another story.
I get the weird creaking sound sometimes when I'm idling too
ill try to get it on tape and upload it to see what you guys think. Gonna try this sometime later this week just to see if it works!

I've got the same thing, mostly on the driver side rear. It'll creak when I get out of the car, or sometimes sit in it. And hell, I only weigh 150lbs. So it's not a 'fat ***' issue! Any chance you can post some pics? My sways are currently stock still. Perhaps write up a DIY for us slackers!
It's quite easy. Here's the instructions:

Now do NOT do #3 (disconnect end links), just do #4 (remove the bushing) or don't even bother disconnecting them and just use a syringe to goop some Silicon Grease in there. I used the Mobil Synthetic one. It's blood red. I would assume it's easier if you take the bushing off but the Hotchkiss one had a little nipple thing on the bottom (the zerk) that you could just twist off and then apply the grease through the hole. After that, just put the bushing back on and put the cover back on. Voila, creeks are all gone. I'm very happy with the results. Shouldn't take more then 30 minutes to do.
