I know i live in edmonton, but hell our seats weight about 180 pounds (for both), 2 r100 sparco seats weight about 50 pounds, and they look awesome. Honestly im afrid to use my seat warming because i feel the constant expansion and contraction of the leather just makes the bubble issue worse

updated original post with some pics and a little review. New seats are not quite as comfortable and sit a little higher. Somewhat disappointing but def. a lot lighter

Let the air out of my spare, that's 35 pounds right off the top. Pulled half of the band aids out of my first aid kit and now my G is a screamin btich. Oh and I pull the manuals out of the trunk when I track her.

I assume you intend on keeping the car forever because you will have a very hard time selling it for anywhere near the value of a car that hasn't been gutted.

What kind of seats are those? Why not just get something proven?

I have a friend selling a carbon-kevlar Recaro.

I'd never pay for a G and gut it lol props to you but it's more of a luxury sports car then a lightweight track car, at least to me

agreed to all. As i updated in my post, these seats are no where near as comfortable or nice as the stock seats. it will never be a super lightweight track car, but 350-400 total lbs sure makes a big difference. It sure makes PA country roads fun

You could cut some high located weight by removing the sun roof and replacing it with a piece of plastic.
How much does the sunroof and supporting mechanism weigh?

Props to you for making this effort. It's weird how the new seats are actually higher. Doesn't really make sense why unless the mounting track is different. Good luck with the back seat. They aren't much use anyway. Better to lighten it up and finish it off clean. Hopefully you get someone to get that done for you soon.

Although the diet plan is a good idea, I would still think about the weight balance issue. If that rear end becomes too light that GTM SC will send you into forever. It will be like hell trying to handle the car. Just saying. Maybe load up the trunk with subwoofers and amps to help balance it.

GL and keep us posted!

Weight balance will bwcome an issue

I regularly autocross my G. Just pulling carpet mats, spare and the jack reduce the weight by about 40 lbs. And that causes a noticible increase in understeer by making the car more nose heavy. You will have to play around with your tire pressures to get the car balanced, unless you have sway bars you can adjust. Here is a simple trick to drop about 140 lbs. And it doesn't require any mods. If you are autocrossing or running drags only carry 1/4 tank of gas or less. Its with a couple of seconds on the autocross. 12 gals. Of fuel weighs about 90 lbs. Just watch F1 and you'll understand the impact of fuel weight.

Sounds like you need a rear sway
