The model year on the title doesn't make it newer for a year longer. It's a marketing ploy to look like a newer car. The year you buy it in is the year the car is and affects the resale value. Some companies like to release their new models early, which does make some sense and others don't. I got my 09 Vert in '10 and it was only out for a few months prior in 2009. Do I care. No.
