Chicago to Denver
Chicago to Denver
Just wanted to share my story of my move from Chicago to Denver the other day. Had a great drive in my G37S coupe
.
I was pulled over by officer friendly at night
. He didn't come up on my Escort Redline so he probably paced me after passing an on-ramp. I recognized the headlights from a Dodge Charger coming behind me pretty darn quick so I pulled to the right lane to let him pass. He stayed behind me for a bit, then hit the flashers. Just got a warning as I was not overtly speeding. Even got a few tips about what he would tolerate for the rest of my trip. Nice guy.
At one point these shiny eyes came out of nowhere, and I had to swerve to avoid a skunk/possum or whatever the hell it was crossing the road. The car was steady during the quick lane change at about 70-75 mph. I became paranoid the rest of the night that all these animals were hiding behind the bushes to jump in front of the car. This was made worse by all the dead deer on the side of the road
I let my wife drive in the morning. She knows how to drive stick, but I guess she got nervous driving the new car for the first time. She stalled twice at first, then burned the clutch passed 4000 rpm on 3rd gear from a slow roll
. I didn't realize it 'cause I was so tired. It smelled pretty bad and she got worried that the car was going to catch fire and 'splode
. No big deal though. The rest of the trip was cake.
Now I'm in Denver, it's snowing, and I just ordered some Blizzaks. I'm liking the car the more I drive it.

Google shows 16 hours. So you drove 16 or so hours straight?
Would have been easier to drive say 8 hours per day for two days so you don't have to be tired and all.
I think you got a break from that cop because of your wife. Sometimes out of town and being with someone helps.
I don't know which cities get more snow, but both are up north so you should be used to cold weather.
Is that mean you are going to be now Denver Broncos fan?
