Dash Cams

I am thinking about installing a Dash Cam to the front and back. Chicago drivers cant drive to save their lives (especially those taxi drivers).

My question is, by hardwiring the dash cams to the fuse box (i.e. cigarette lighter port), would thais void my vehicle warranty in anyway?

I called two infiniti dealers around the area and one said it would be fine and no risk to voiding the warranty. The other said, it will and rather drivers dont mess with anything in the fuse box.

What are your experiences with hardwiring a dash cam or anything else to the fuse box?

Well, you are the few exceptions. I drive between downtown and the Navy base in North Chicago. Let's just say at 6am, there are a huge number of idiots behind the wheel.

Unless the wiring / fuse-tap is installed in some terrible manner that leads to electrical issues of some sort-- then installed/hard-wiring a dash cam will not void your warranty. If it was found to be the cause of say your headlights not coming on anymore (for example) then they'd void that portion of your warranty and the repair to fix and get the headlights working again wouldn't be covered.
