The changes for the 2011 models have been announced
What's with further limiting the appeal of the manual transmission? With 2011 Infiniti is only offering the 6MT fully loaded. Back in the day you could get a G35 coupe with the manual trans, standard with the performance options but no luxury options. It seems like they are further limiting the audience that would buy this car into oblivion!! Also why not offer synchro-rev match on the G37 at least as an option from the 370Z????

As for the synchro-rev match trans, that would be cool I guess. I have mixed feelings about it. I enjoy rev matching myself, so I would probably never use it. I guess it's okay as long as I have a way to turn it off.
Yes of course you are all right about the tech pack still being a choice...my point is that they are further restricting how someone can buy a 6MT equipped. For some buyers this will dissuade them and they'll just go with the 7AT or the 3 series. For me it would have probably dissuaded me from buying the 6MT if I had to buy the nav pack as well. And to the used car buyer...if they can even find a 2011+ 6MT...it also restricts how the car could be equipped.
The nav package is 1,850 on top of the 6MT's price of 41,000. Really it's not going to restrict many peoples options in terms of price ranges I believe. The old base 6MT without prem/nav maybe would be a different price segment but looks like that is not the direction Infiniti is taking. Like it has been said the 6MT already has premium and of course sport standard. Infiniti probably is adding the nav package standard because the majority of 6MT's were ordered with nav. Although I agree it is always great to have the option of a car exactly how you want it (with or without nav) the majority % of 6MT buyers will probably have ended up ordering the NAV package anyway, else I do not see why Infiniti would want to **** off the 6MT buyers on purpose

LOL...they aren't trying to get less 6MT sales. That's silly. They don't need a reason to stop making the 6MT cars. They could easily pull the plug without any reason at all.
Acura isn't big on optional equipment and it seems to work well for them. Most Acuras come fully equipped with no factory options other than navigation. My mother's old TL was that way. You just picked your color and whether or not you wanted navigation.
Is this really the G25? These are supposedly pictures of a Chinese showroom housing the G25s...

Wow some of you are really pissy and bitchy. All I did was mention that it sucks that Infiniti keeps pricing the 6MT into oblivion and there are probably some buyers turned off by that (I would be if I hadn't already bought a 2008). The 6MT now costs about $8000 more than it did in 2008. Nissan sites poor 6MT sales but if they actually took the time to properly engineer the hardware and offer the manual in line with the auto, they would probably sell more of them. I think they offer it mainly as a marketing ploy and that's about it. Yes, it will probably be discontinued on the next model.

Did you ever stop to think that Nissan/Infiniti has other reasons to package navigation with the 6MT cars? Maybe they found that the majority of 6MT owners also want navigation in their cars (I got it with my car). Maybe there are other business reasons for them to lump together certain packages with certain models.
Ironically, I was in the market for a G37 in '09, but didn't pull the trigger until the '10 came out. Back in '09, I simply wanted this car: G37 coupe 6MT, premium package, navigation package, rear spoiler. I decided to hold off a while and by the time I was ready to purchase, the '10 models came out. Guess what? Now the premium package was standard on the 6MT. So now I wanted this car: G37 coupe 6MT, navigation package, rear spoiler. The MSRP of the '10 was actually lower than the MSRP on the '09, and the only difference between the two cars was that the '10 had the premium package standard and it was optional on the '09.
