Just Got a G37 6mt in white and i love it. Only drove it from 6 when i got it to 10 when it started to make a noise. I went to park it and the car made a weird grinding noise but i didnt hit the curb (i was nowhere near and checked rim). Didnt think much of it. Started it back up and it started to make a weird sorta metal grinding noise. Calling dealer first thing in morning but this is IRRITATING the **** outta me. it makes noise wether rollin in neutral or in gear idk y its already making noise at 86 miles... any ideas what it might be?

 

Need more details, is the sound coming from a wheel or the engine?

 

I think he maybe hearing the "clutch chatter"

 

Ain't making the noise anymore but goin to the dealer now... Idk where exactly it's coming from I think ether muffler or engine. Watched the bad muffler vid and it didn't sound like that... Idk sounds like something was rattling only wen the car is in motion...

doesn't make sense if he claims it also happens while driving... Clutch chatter would only occur while parked in neutral or on take off from 1st gear.

Eh, our cars are noisy in 6MT. Unless you can take a vid/audio clip of it when you're driving I can't say it's normal or not.

Probably normal though.

 

Does the noise go away when you press in the clutch?

Your break in period is the last stage in QC. Try and issolate repro steps so you can be sure they'll experience it when you take it to the dealer. They'll find and fix.. drama over.

 

Brought it to dealer earlier and they checked it over and everything looked fine and no problems today... Hope it was just a noise in the break in period
