I am trying to figure out if the 2008 G37 comes with the guided rear view camera (sonar system) that the 2009 and 2010 come with. If it does come with it, what package do I need to buy to get it?

It comes in the navi package for 2008. But it's not the sonar based where it beeps. It's just the camera.

 

But does it have the lines drawn in on the rear view display? The lines go from red to green and are supposed to give an indication of distance. I saw this on a 2009 I test drove. But I'm not sure if the 2008 has this.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I am fairly certain the sonar system and rearview camera are totally different things. The 09's don't have the sonar system the 2010's do

 

Your question does not make sense. Sonar detects distance by sound. Rear view camera lets you see what's behind you.
