Battery Problem Solved...well kind of

Thought I'd share my experience...

I'm sure many of you are aware of the dead battery problems with the 08's. In my case, I've had my battery replaced a total of 2 times but have been to the dealer 5 times in the past year because of either a dead battery or a really really sluggish battery. Got the latest fix in January and the car seems to be ok now. However, only time will really tell whether the fix is permanent.

Anyhow, long story short...after some research...I decided to pursue lemon law and was successful. Nissan is buying my car back! BTW, from what I know, I am the 3rd person at my dealership to have had the car bought back for the same battery issues.

I do plan on getting a 2010. From what I've heard, the problems were only reported on the 08's (someone please tell me if this is not the case). In addition, I will definitely get one with Nav this time around. Also thinking about getting a 7AT. Hope this helps any of you who have had the same problems I've had.

Do they buy back based on the price you paid for it? Or depreciated?

Everything you paid for it...down payment, monthly payments, payoff amount..even a pro-rated registration. However, in California, there is a usage fee that the manufacturer is entitled to...which is based off of the mileage on the car when the issue in question "initially" started.

How many miles do you have on ur 08? I think Texas lemon law says that it has to be under a certain limit. I have had the same issues, 2 weeks ago got the bigger M-spec battery and its fine...so far. Still waiting on the BCM to be in stock. BTW did you use a lawyer?

Had close to 27K miles when I filed for lemon law. Yes I used a lawyer...cost me nothing. Lawyer fees are paid by the manufacturer.

My 2009 g37 7AT which is 4 months old died on me today. I was waiting in a parking a lot with the bluetooth on and the radio, car was off. Then my friend comes by, and the damn thing wouldn't start. I called AAA and got it jumped started. The guy said my battery was really low on charge. I need to take this to dealer =(.

Refer to the following thread. This was the last thing I had done on my 08...

BTW...make sure you call it in to Infiniti Roadside so it's recorded...and save your service invoices of course...just in case you continue to have the problem down the road.

My battery died after the first year and the dealership recharged the battery to "good" status. After another year the same battery died again, but this time the battery wouldn't hold enough charge to be in "good" status so the dealership replaced my battery at a 2 year pro-rated price which came out to about $35 on my end.

It has been about a year since the new battery, and the new battery has been working pretty good (knock on wood).

Well the dealer had my 08 for over a week now. They said they are waiting on a part to come in. I think it is some new module that the svc. mgr. said the states are getting 30 of in the latest shipment and I am #27 on the list to get. I live an hour away so they sent someone to get the car and gave a brand new g27x 4 door as a rental. I had to mail them my other key because they said the module reprograms the whole system. I will let you know exactly what they fixed when I get the invoice. Thankfully it is under warranty! I had the thing jump started 4 times by Infiniti roadside, on the 4th time I asked the roadside operator if the dealer has access to how many times this car has been jumped; they said no. Hopefully this gets fixed this time.

Update: Just had the dealer deliver my car. They did the tsb# ITB10-010. They replaced the "valve assembly control-14935-jf00a, Battery 999m1-qc24f, and controller assembly BC-284B1-JK75B". I am very satisfied that this has finally gotten fixed. If you are having battery issues, mention this TSB! Total bill if not under warranty would have been $640.00 OUCH!

Looking to sign the paperwork tomorrow on:

2010 Moonlight White G37S Coupe
Sport Pkg
Premium Pkg
Navigation Pkg
Splash Guards
Trunk Mat
Cargo Net
First Aid Kit

Sales Price - $40,031.00 <----includes $1500 Dealer cash
That price is exactly invoice minus the dealer cash.

Can't wait...it's like falling in love all over again!

So I took it in to the dealer and they upgraded my battery to a bigger one. I had to fill out a battery survey for infiniti to help them sort through this issue. I did called infiniti road side. The whole process at the dealer was painless =).
