Bull, I own 07 3.5x sedan with 5 speed and it eats more gas than my 09 3.7x coupe. Also no penny faster, also no one preventing you to use manual shift and drive up to 5 or even 4 I believe 7 speed is HUGE plus to the G, it is defenetly one of the reasons to get AT vs MT.

And the 7sp is the exact reason we bought an 08 1500 miles across the country instead of ordering a new 09 from the dealer 5 minutes from my house. The 09's were already being built and there was no way we were going to get a car with that transmission.

If you want feel, MT is still the way to go. [/end 5AT vs 7AT debate]

7AT is smoother and quicker.... supposedly better fuel economy. you can ask anyone here, the fuel economy is the same if not worse... lol

5AT is more reliable, I would say it's more rev happy than the 7AT.... more fun to drive cause you can stay in the 3500 rpm range more easily in D and DS. I think it's a better drive personally (I owned both the 08 and the 09)

you get the AWD in the 09 if you fancy as such w the 7AT.

if none of this matters, everything else is exactly the same. I'd pick up a new 08 (if you can find one) over a new 09 if i didn't want the AWD. if not you might as well wait for the refresh.

realistically, all of this shouldn't matter. get the coupe 6 speed. you'll like it more. unless you want the AWD. then you dont' have a choice. I think the drive in the 6speed Coupe is much better than the either automatics... I'm just waiting to see if synchro rev match shows in the 2011-2012 refresh. that'd be a nice feature for the G.

Funny thing, just put heads and cam in a 300C SRT8, pushing 500 at the rear wheels. And I do love it. Running 0-60's at a consistant 4.4 seconds and that's with the stock torque convertor which will be changed out this spring.
