bad news guys am i screwed

So we had crazy flooding last night in Jersey. I tried to make it through 1 more floody looking road but 1/2 way through the car stalled out. Someone came within 5 mins to push my car out of the water onto dry ground. I couldnt get the car to start back up though. No water got into the car id say it was kinda high, maybe a little above the license plate, like 1/4 of the way up the doors.

Symptoms of the car
all lights and power worked but the engine wouldnt start, gave some clicking noises some noises of acting like it was going to start then just dying out

after 30mins waiting for the tow all the electricity went out, i used jumper cables to get the electricity back but the car still wouldnt start. ive heard things like people say let it dry out etc, but who knows.

after 2 hours the electricity was working, then not working, it was flickering etc, but never a sign of starting the engine

the guy came, towed the car to the infiniti dealer, but they dont open until tomorrow morning, so i guess i wont find nothing out for another 24 hours

i have full coverage, do you think the car can be totaled? i popped the hood everything looked normal? nothing is wet inside the car?... but im not too good with car parts

2008 G37s loaded, 4500 miles........hopefully its not a RIP
any tips?

Let it dry out!!! Same thing happened to my 350z but water got sucked in and engine was gone insurance replaced with brand new engine!! If u take it to the dealer and they c water got into the engine it's not covered they will tell u to take it to insurance..If everything is working dot sweet it just let it dry out , but if gives u syptoms like the electric or any other problem than Water might have got sucked in the engine and it may hydrolock!!!

Probably got water into one of the electrical plugs/connections down low. Sounds like it might be something as simple as a fuse or just a connections that became shorted from the water. Since its at the dealer now let them find it. I highly doubt it got water into the engine and hydro locked if the water was only as high as you stated. GOOD LUCK, and stay out of the water crossings, no matter how shallow they look. Let us know what they find.

just let it dry out for a couple of days...put it in the sun with the hood up? if water got into the cylinder, it probably bent some parts and youre screwed.

if you kept cranking it and the water is sitting in the engine.... you might've hydrolocked the motor.

the worst thing to do is if you go through al ot of water and then keep starting to crank the car.

you have insurance so they might tow it to the dealer and see how bad it is... if it can be fixed then you're fine.

yeah i mean i know i have great insurance, but if the car is shot then i know ill probably get ripped off a couple thousand on a payout....

so basically hope its electrical damage they can fix.....

if not hope it the engine and they replace the engine...

if not im screwed i guess? this is just horrible that i probably have to wait til late tomorrow to even find out

Sorry to hear that, but it sounds like this is going to be an expensive lesson in low water crossings. I'm sure that your car will work again though. Sounds electrical.

Sorry to hear about your car! Does the car even try to start? Is your car an Auto or M/T?

If it's an auto, is your brake pedal hard to press down?

Water could have gotten in if the exhaust pipes were either covered or partially covered with water. If you don't have an Ijen CIA then the intake should be fine. Call the dealership and get them to investigate. Contact insurance and go from there. Good luck.
