Front Windshield Noise problem
Front Windshield Noise problem
my 08 g37s is having a front windshield noise problem. This rattling noise is loud enough to get me annoyed driving without the music on. I had this problem ever since a month after I started driving it. My 2nd service was done recently and have been telling the dealership about this since that 2nd week. They said there was only one other g37 having the same kind of problem. So they said that they are kind of making a file on this problem. But they said they cannot do anything until INFINITI CANADA approves this file and give them a solution for this problem.
So i was wondering if there is anyone else having a similar problem like this. . . .
seems like i have made a mistake for buying infiniti. . . should have sticked with BMW..
****! I better get that windshield fixed for free.. or else, will be selling g37s to get bmw.. = =

Welcome to owning the G37... welcome to the annoying windshield problem that a lot of us have but has been very difficult to remedy.
One of these days, when I get a day off, I'm going to take it back and have it evaluated and hopefully fixed.
I've zoned it out when I drive, I try not to pay attention to it.

I have the same problem. It does seem to vary with the temperature. It sounds like a cross between the glass cracking and plastic rubbing. I can't seem to pin it down. It
is annoying but I can live with it as long as I know it is nothing serious. I am going to take it to the dealer soon. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether this is anything to worry about or if it is just one of those common rattles we have all had to deal with.

Could it be your windshield shroud (pastic cover below the windowshield) rattling? Or perhaps it is the A-pillar body panel rubbing each other? I have both problems and my dealer in Toronto fixed it. They have to re-seat the windshield shroud and put in some foam in the A-pillar and changed out the A-pillar bolts.
autowest infiniti in richmond, b.c. is aware of this problem since there's been a few complaints...so far no solution unless they take apart ur dash....which also doesn't guarantee a permanent fix...the tech's recommendation was..."live with it"...he also said it's pretty much the plastic of the dash rubbing up against the bottom of the windshield that causes this weird cracking/popping noise....he said he's tried using felt fabrics and jamming it in there (same crap as the stuff around ur windows)...but it's not a permanent fix....his only true permanent recommendation (which isn't covered by infiniti)...was to use a dremel and pretty much grind a thin layer away at the dash where it comes into contact with the windshield....but that requires u to take apart ur dash....and after u reassemble...there might be other noises since ur clips are all mangled/loose now...who wants to be the guinea pig???
did u know that there was something called noise and rattle warranty within the first year? anything that rattles or produces weird noise is covered bumper to bumper within the first year....didn't know that until that techy told me...

Good info . I am going to relay it to the Guys at Harper Infiniti. Sounds like I am going to have to learn to live with it. I do not want my dash ripped apart. My main concern was that it was not anything major.
