scoops

i only posted the other thread so others could use this mod and gain some hp or power or whatever you want to call it. the car is faster, 0-60 is as well. if you dont think it works, you all can go to youtube and look up rpi scoop and google it as well. then you can see some results from other cars. i didnt just pull this out of my ***. maybe the original posting was a little blah, but my buddy did gain 35 hp(proven from a dyno, and no i do not have the dyno to show, but w.e.). so yeah, 40/50 hp maybe was out there. but regardless, it has added more quickness to the car, i did a few videos tonight 0-60. those will be on youtube hopefully later on today. from the videos we made, it seems it was getting to 60 in between 4.9 to 5.1 secs. im not sure, its around there, i couldnt get an exact time, or didnt look. we just recorded it a unch of times. but i may not be a "car magician" like most of you all are, or think you are. but i know my fair share, and the stuff i dont know, i have friends that do, and much more. so enough with the making fun crap,if you dont like the idea, just move on, dont judge people. because id bet that i could find a bunch of crap to judge most of you about, as im sure others can. so yes, im saying im more than likely wrong about 40/50 hp, so drop the crap already.<!-- google_ad_section_end --> if you are gonna be all bitchy, dont respond. but if you want to actually talk about the mod and/or other mods, then go for it.

I like the idea but like I said before there is no way that much air can be properly read through the factory computer. With a tune it should be interesting.

Its like headers for our cars. When put them on they actually show a loss in power but with a tune its a different story. Id be carefull with my air fuel ratios btw with those scoops.

well according to my buddy who works with every car imaginable and all their components, he said that ours r continuous learning, so they will adjust to the amount of air being rammed in. so i was told, and id believe him over pretty much anyone.

You think your buddy can come on here and explain them a little more along with his tunning background. Im not being a d!ck just would be nice to hear straight from the source with some numbers and not from someone who talks about 0-60 times

coming to a forum, making a thread in hopes of getting good healthy comments with your attitude isnt exactly going to happen, in any forum regardless of topic.

being condescending gets you no where but being flamed. try being considerate, man up to ur mistakes [ like u did ] but do so in a manly fashion instead of calling everyone sarcastic 'car magician[s]', and bitchy, perhaps just leave that out next time

trusting your friend is fine, but having the entire public disagree with you, there's gotta be some truth in that too right?

not exactly man. i was actually very calm in the other thread. but got flustered becuz they got to be jerks. so i deleted. i did say i made a mistake, but im not gna take back the fact that it gained quickness. and of course they wld disagree, they havent dun it, so they cant be the judge of it. but they didnt need to make fun and all that crap. i mean, i mearly posted a thread that was slightly off on my part, but it took immature ppl to make it into something.

well its not ment to b insulting, cuz i love my car just as much as im sure u do. so my bad if u were insulted, but he's not gna want to come here to explain something that doesnt exactly need to b explained.he just works with cars all the time, mostly bmw, mercedes and ferrari. so he knows his stuff, and from what i understand he has a buddy that does the reprogramming of the ecu's and has done some g37's and they were the continuous learning ecu's. so im going by what he said.

so no solid numbers, no actual proof that you "added quickness" to your car. you claim to have a buddy from the AMG forums that can attest to this yet you claim he wouldn't bother to come on here to back you up......no offense but you sound like a wannabe tuner that knows absolutely nothing. and honestly, that is not a bad thing. don't get me wrong, i am also a complete newb when it comes to modifying the G, but i am on here to learn, to get positive and negative feedback from people that probably know more than me. but in your other thread, you started with an attitude in your very first response when someone requested a dyno to back up your bold claims. granted it could have been asked in a better way, but if you had responded with something a little more intelligent than "dyno or bs, yea ok" than maybe the thread would not have turned into a flame fest on you. Embrace your newbness, admit that you don't know that much about this stuff as evident in a couple of your other threads and you can start the learning process. i am not sure how old you are, but you sound like a decent kid that just needs to learn more about this stuff. /rant

yea i am new to all this, im not ashamed and i actually wasnt the first to mention scoops.i mean i posted the first thread, but ive seen it in another thread. i made videos earlier and have to get them from my friend that was with me later and post on youtube. and no, i dnt have "solid" numbers for my car, but to honest, i have better things to do than just make things up (no sarcasm added)... put scoops like mine on ur car, or anyone reading this, try then if u dnt see a difference, then i will admit "defeat"...

if you have better things to do, why come on here and continue to make claims you cannot back up? youtube videos are not going to prove anything unless you have timeslips, dyno numbers. you may not believe any of us, but your butt dyno can be extremely deceptive. if you have friends that regularly tune ferraris and lambos, i am sure they would have access to a dyno. ask them to dyno the car and i am more than willing to bet you will be surpised at what little actual HP gains you have. This is not an insult nor me being "bitchy." if you come back and post proof that you actually gained 35 HP than I will admit defeat as will everyone else on here that is doubting you.

If you'd used real punctuation, capitalized the correct words, and actually used the letter 'o' when spelling 'don't', I would have believed you.

I don't own a G and I'm here. I spend time on the IS forums, m3post, mbworld, audizine, etc, and I'm still here! You're buddy can make some time to help us understand the improvements you're claiming. Don't get us wrong, we all appreciate an opportunity for some horsepower, but we have a good understanding as to how the engine operates (not to mention how an engineering team designs a car...), and we'd love to have it explained in a technical manner.

Enjoy your car, and do to it what you will, but take everything with a grain of salt.

Mmmm Patron. Damn you.
