mine died after over 2 years 12,000 miles.
I bought it used and I was told that the battery had been replaced once already after a 2 year period. The batteries on these die quicker that's for sure.

Once the engine is running the alternator takes over and runs the accessories, as well as recharging the depleted battery. But that doesn't take long. I suppose an old battery would take longer to recharge thus drawing more load from the alternator, which in turn could sap a tiny bit of power from the engine via the serpentine belt. You would have to be very perceptive to notice the difference though.

The battery I had was completely done for. Had to use a jump pack on it everyday for three weeks till I finally had time off work to get to the interstate store. I would say the car didn't "gain" power, but it was definately more responsive when I pulled out of the with the new battery

I just replaced the original in my 09, roughly over 3 years of service. It was still working but had a hard time starting after 20 minutes of radio on. I replaced it with a Deka 21 pound battery, shaved roughly 15 pounds off the front end.

Don't forget that a low-voltage battery can cause all sorts of issues in a car, so it's possible that he did lose power that was noticeable. My transmission stopped thumping into 1st gear when coming to a stop or when shifting from park when I put the bigger battery in.

We just brought in our 2008 coupe and I asked about the TSB for the battery....the dealer said I did have the older battery that had issues and replaced our battery for free!! Now it starts quickly again when it is cold. Oh and our warranty is expired!

i finally took my car to the dealership today and they're swapping out the old battery for a new one after it failed to start last night. said the battery died and heard that there was a service bulletin. he pulled up my info and began reading the notes and said "ok, you're getting a new battery." he said i had already got the new vent control valve.
