It's not just the battery's fault entirely. There is a computer system that performs calculations when you start the vehicle and goes on as you drive. Originally, the whole computation process took the computer I think an hour or more (per the Service Dept. when they fixed mine), and continue running until completion even after we turn the car off. If we take a lot of these short trips, the battery is the only one powering that system, and since the vehicle is not running, the alternator will not charge the battery, and it eventually dies. In your case, nine times. Sorry to hear your long-lived struggle. But no more....

A TSB replaces the battery with a better one, and they adjust the length of the computation to run faster and be done within 10-15 mins after the vehicle is started. They also reset your ECU for you. Problem solved.

If you are out of warranty, you'll have to pay out of pocket for this service; which is very unfortunate and unfair I believe. Infiniti already knew there was a problem with all these cars from that year; this should've been a recall, period. It would've saved me the headache and cost of one battery, and your 9-battery nonsense.

Hope this helps!

2009 (30 months), first dead battery yesterday... funny enough I was taking it to Infiniti to replace the back camera. I had to Jump it.

Last week I did have the Car in ACC mode for a bit recording CDs. I'm taking a long trip in two weeks, so I'm going to replace the battery.

2008 with 15k miles, Have had nothing but battery issues past 3-4k miles, goes in tommorow for this TSB, I am gonna try my best to not pay a penny, yes its out of warranty but this is like a Recall and it is very low miles! Hopefully they do it and not trip over the audio system which is totally unhooked! Will keep you guys updated tommorow on if My issues are finally fixed. My Show car that sat in the garage and never started is finally gonna be able to be reliable and start lol

I have a Interstate Battery but I was told that it is only 550 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) and the M Battery they replace with is 710 CCA and Either I get Infinitis M battery or upgrade my Interstate battery?

Should I pay them to give me the M Battery or Pay and get a Interstate or my own aftermarket battery?

The TSB came out in the Spring of 2009. Not sure why you waited this long to get the battery charging problem fixed. Please keep us posted how the dealer handles this situation.

If you don’t use the car frequent enough it pays to have a trickle changer on. I use a CTEK charger for all my toys.

I thought it came out Spring of 2010, and it had one to dealer twice winter of 2009 and they didnt know anything about it, it was blamed that the audio system was draining power and since it sat in my garage as a third car I didnt wanna spend money on electrical/audio drain so I left it alone, I am going now and see what they say

I know there is no expriy for any recalls. The dealer has to fix the problem for free. I am not sure about TSBs and if there is any charges.

Please keep us posted. Good luck!

They wanted $130 to start a diagnosis, the TSB is $150 or so for each item, battery and vcv part.

Around $500 total

I got diagnosis down to $65, called infiniti and started a case # (only way to start a case # is after diagnosis), i will get a call back from infiniti corporate and they will also call the dealership.

I am gonna do my all to not pay a cent for a car with only 15,120 miles as of today, will keep you guys updated, so maybe it can be helpful for someone else.

The managers like it hasn't been to a dealer since Jan 2010 n was getting pissed, im like WTF does a 15,000 mile car gotta goto dealership for?

So I have a Interstate battery with 550 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps), but was told the M Battery has 710 CCA, do I pay them $150 for there battery or get one from interstate for cheaper as I might be able to replace the current battery

A battery with at or above the stock CCA rating is better. The harddrive sucks up a lot of power. Just in case....

As long as Interstate has the battery with the same rating it should work.

The battery in our cars is not maintenance free. You have to open up the cell plugs and make sure the distilled water is at the right level.

I throw it on a ctek charger every month as well and it has done the job quite well without issue.

I called Interstate and she said if the battery I have is bad than they will credit it towards another battery. Also she herself said our cars specially the coupes are recommended to get MTP-24 S which is 800 CCA & 1000 CA, so my 550 CCA battery definitely needs to be replaced, the Infiniti M Battery they exchange for $150 at dealership has 700 CCA

UPDATE - So she called me and said Infiniti as a Goodwill will pay for parts but I will have to pay for $130 labor. Sounded decent and I guess the old battery I will just keep.
