cigarette lighter no work?

I've had so many cars with so many things breaking down but a cigarette lighter??? I use that lighter to charge my cell, sometimes power some other things and lately nothing will work in it. I don't know why that is? I'm just wondering if anyone else has found problems with this in my car or am I the only lucky one here.

Come on, there are more important things to worry about than your power port/cigarette lighter.

Take it to the dealer and let them look at it. Fer crissakes, that's what a warranty is for.

Yea, I know we paid $40k+ for this car and it should be "perfect", but some folks need to lighten-up. There are untold thousands of individual parts in a car, and if .00000000000000001% fail, we should consider ourselves lucky.

Not to direct this at the OP, but some of the bitching and whining about incredibly inconsequential issues borders on ridiculous. Wait until some of you get a married, sign a mortgage, and start having kids. Get to your late-40's/early-50's and watch your 401(k) tank. Believe me, then you will have something to worry about.

It's great that we have this forum to discuss our cars and the issues that come up with them. It's important to learn about fundamental design flaws that may creep up (luckily none so far). I love seeing the mods, and reading about the car culture in SoCal - we don't have meets down here in the great Banana Republic of Louisiana.

Bottom line to this rant? ENJOY your cars and the prosperity you have that allows you to own one.

I was kidding... You don't have lemon just because of a cig lighter. As the other guy said. Take it to the dealer or check the fuse yourself.

No life's good. Like I said, I wasn't trying to single you out. There is just so much whining sometimes on the board for the most ridiculous things that some guys need to chill out. In pointing that out, I came across as the guy needing to chill. Sorry.

I think that outlet is specifically for the cigarette lighter. I know on our old suburban you could only use the cigarette lighter for just that, and it had other A/C ports to use for chargers. So maybe its just meant for a lighter or one of those chargable flash lights. That plug may not go deep enough for regular accesories.
