I'm thinking maybe my car has a problem I don't know of! Anyone else getting about the same $hitty MPG I'm getting just from city driving?

Should I take it to the stealership? What do you guys think the problem (if any) could be?

EDIT 1: I mean this car is supposed to get between 15-19 in the city based on driving habits! But 13.8 doesn't sound right!

EDIT 2: 13.8 MPG is what I get with the A/C off!
I suppose I drive mine pretty "spirited," but whenever I'm just chilling out I make sure to keep it under 2k RPM (acceleration maybe up to 2.5k) and I get 18mpg city. I would expect your probably keeping it closer to 3k or something? Otherwise I couldn't possibly see how the heck your numbers are so bad.

I'm stop and go all the time; in my commute it's all city driving and I'm lucky if I get past 35mph--not because of speed limit just because of traffic and lights

My city mileage is more like 17-18 mpg shifting at 2.5k to 3k rpms. When I first got the car, I was driving it like my S2000 (may it RIP) and got horrible mileage. I have since changed my habits and am getting much better mileage now.

Well if you are cruising at 65 then mid 20s is normal depending on the road surface condition.

What kind of city driving do you do? Do you drive in stop and go traffic? I noticed the car eats up the most fuel in the first and second gear (no matter how hard you try to shift at a low RPM.

I get your point about driving habits. But I mean come on, why would anyone get a G37 if he wants to just cruise and shift at 2.5K or 3K rpm. But I agree that it seems to be the only way to get a good mileage out of the car.

Agree! LA is not any better than NYC. That's what I call real "city" driving, that is continuous gear change from 1 to 3. then back to 1!

I have an auto..Most of the city driving isn't stop and go...mostly moving at about 35-45 mph...another thing i do for long trips is set the cruise control while the car is in manual mode and set it to 5th gear after i reach 65 so it doesn't hunt for gears if there are any hills etc
