Right idea...wrong reason.
Exactly! That's what I meant, indirect relationship.

I'm thinking maybe my car has a problem I don't know of! Anyone else getting about the same $hitty MPG I'm getting just from city driving?

Should I take it to the stealership? What do you guys think the problem (if any) could be?

EDIT 1: I mean this car is supposed to get between 15-19 in the city based on driving habits! But 13.8 doesn't sound right!
be proud with 13.8 i get as low as 11.5 right now im at 12.9

Nothing to be worried about. My mpg is that range/area most of the time. Now when I do a bit of freeway and mostly city driving I average 15 mpg

I just hit between 27-28 mpg on a 2 hr roadtrip. It took some finesse, but it was fun in a way.

I'm now normally ~17 just city, 24-26 hwy, and 19.5-21.0 combined on a tank. 8000+ mi.

When I do city driving I am at 14 mpg. When I mix highway driving I go between 15-17 mpg. When its all highway, then I am at 25-26 mpg.

Can you tell us what speed you were doing and at what RPM?

24-26 sounds pretty good!

EDIT: I know you have a manual tranny by the way!

I drove from FL to NC (13 hours) a couple weeks ago in my G. I was following my mom, and my dad was following me in a little convoy haha. I set my adaptive cruise to like 88 in 6th gear so that it would follow up to whatever speed my mom was going. Managed to average 29.8mpg over the 13 hours, averaged 72mph, 3000 RPM pretty much the whole way up.

I do all city driving (Phoenix)...a/c constantly on 6mt..haven't been on the highway in a month since a trip to Sierra Vista(south of Tucson) which is 3 hours away..Averaging 21.7 city. On the highway for a 30 mile stretch thru Tuscon..I got 29 mpg..60-65 mph. Later on closer to my destination I drove at 90 mph for quite a while and get 23.5-24 mpg. 3000 miles on speedo.
