Origin of the G37

I always wanted to know more about how the G37 gets made.. like I presume it's made in the tochigi factory? but does anyone know more? how about maybe some factory pictures? what steps does the car go through from the frame to final delivery? i don't know why but i've always wanted to know more about how this car gets made.

BMW has European Delivery; you can go to Munich where the BMW is made and walk through the plant, etc.; you can then pick up your BMW, drive it all over Europe (Even the Autobahn), then return it to the port, and it arrives in America in about 4-6 weeks. Its a hell of an experience, mind you, you can get your BMW for about $5k less than invoice doing it this way.

Too bad Infiniti doesnt offer this.

Tochigi factory production video & pics:
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=124083

Link focuses on the GT-R but Nissan uses the same production line (at same time) & techs to build the 37.
/Saw this 6+mths ago & haven't come across anything more relevant since.

Yes, but that would require American's to understand the concept of a passing lane, which they do not.

agree, the thing that gets on my nerves the most and my blood boiling is when idiots goes 60-70 on the left lane and no one is on the right lane for miles.

FYI - this is the Autobahn -

My next car is preferably going to be the 135, simply so I can go to Germany and experience.

This used to bug the crap out of me too. But that was before I got my STi and then my G37S. Now it's game on. If it were not for these same morons ambling down the path daydreaming, I would be driving in a straght line all the time. As it is, I get the practice my skills. Give me a few slow moving trucks to dodge along the way and I am having an interesting commute. It's better than a ride at he fai............insert LOUD CRASH NOISE.........breaking glass.....

Reminds me of something that happened to me last week.. I lend my girl the G37 and I'm following her in her car (her car is 5MT, and she wasnt in the mood to drive manual), so I see these 2 guys come up next to her and try to get her number, etc.. and she tells them to look forward, they thought she was saying meet her somewhere or something.. well they rear ended a brand new Toyota Camry (had the temp tag still on).

you should just fly to germany and rent an RS4 from sixt rental car. fly into munich, pick up the car at the airport, then head out to bavaria on some of germany's newest autobahn. settle in the country side for some beer. its a lot cheaper than buying a 135i and more fun too.

Wouldn't you need a German driver license to drive around there?

i wanted to do European delivery with a BMW, all the temporary insurance and license paperwork is handled by your BMW dealer prior to you going over there. All you do is go in with your passport to pick up your vehicle and put on the euro tags. Its pretty sweet.

International drivers license. It is basically just a fee to pay.
