Service Loaners, Does it matter to you...

Just wanted to get feedback from you guys on this topic. When you take your car in for service I have to assume you get a G37 sedan loaner car as we get here in Austin. Would it matter to you if they gave you a really inexpensive, cheap, dirty car as a loaner? Does it matter? Do you care? Should we?

It should be clean and if not, Don't be shy or ashamed to ask for a clean car! Then ride it hard and put it away wet!(Just Kid'in)

To me it is important that the loaner be at least of the same class of the car you actually own. I figure I'm paying everyday for a premium car which is in warranty service, at least i should get what I'm paying for and not for a crappy rental while my car is sitting in the service bay.

My dealer loans out Infiniti's for their customers. From a G35 coupe up to the Q. It does matter to me, I'd be upset if they lend me a beat up, dirty Nissan. As long as it's a decent, clean car, (doesnt have to be am Infiniti), I'm happy.
When I had my first service last week, they lend me a '08 M35 with even less mileage than my car. Felt like a grandpa driving that boat around.

I agree that it should be an Infiniti loaner. I would be suspect of any dealer that loaned out a different make of vehicle! I thought Infiniti required dealers to loan out Infiniti vehicles. To me, Its good for customer relations to do so. I have taken my car in twice now. Once for the clear bra install negotiated at the time of sale, And the second for my first service. On both occasions I received a "clean" 08 G sedan.

It would definitely matter. We paid for better service, so we should get it.

But speaking of inexpensive, dirty loaners, this reminds me of an experience with a local repair shop. I had a 97 mustang and it just lost it's fluid driving on the freeway and almost overheated. Thought it was just a hose, so I had it towed to a local shop. Turns out the intake manifold failed and it turned into about a week long ordeal to get parts and repair. I didn't blow the welds on my intake, like Vin Diesl, but it was a molded plastic intake that just failed. Sooooo . . . I needed a car, and was surprised the shop said they'd give me a loaner car. They did, but it was a mid-late eighties Olds 88, total Piece of Crap. But they let me use it for the week.

In the end, about a year later I got a letter from Ford saying they were recalling the car to replace the manifold. Learned my lesson on that one. Only the dealer does repairs for me now.

I've always gotten a Infiniti loaner from my dealer. They were always base model g sedans though, but seems to be well kept. I dont really like driving any car except mine though...

I have always got G35 sedan loaners, some of them are in **** condition, others are nice.

I really don't care what I drive as a loaner as long as it is clean.

One thing that does bother me though is loaners that smell like ciggerettes, I hate the smoke smell that all loaners seem to have.
