60-mph mark gets gulped in 5.5 seconds,

G37
Zero to 60 mph: 5.4 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 14.0 sec @ 100 mph

IS350
Zero to 60 mph: 5.1 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 13.7 sec @ 104 mph
How about using the best mag time acheived for the G37 if you are going to do the same for the G35.

And that is 0-60 = 5.3 and 1/4 mile = 13.8 for the G37. At a drag strip that's a good margin over the G35 coupe.

None-the-less mag racing FTL!

This is another example of why magazine numbers are useless. People are selective about the numbers they pick.

As a 1st year owner of new model cars twice in the last 8 years (well 3 times now with the G37), I have learned that after a year or so, the 1/4 mile numbers improve a good deal on the 1st year model as drivers learn how to drop the clutch and where to shift. I cant speak for autos but there is more than just pushing on the gas for autos also.

Ok, lets hit the tracks... G's both g35 and g37 obviously do not do well in the 1/4...... I didn't buy this car for racing anyways. So I could care less. Sorry if I offended anyways, but at least I didn't grab the info out of my azz like some people here.

"My car is fast cuz it feels faster than the G35" haha.

Speed

As I understand the test, the G35 was a little quicker 0-60 in most tests but the G37 was much quicker from 60-150 then the G35. I think if you are already moving and need to pass, its very good but is not quite as quick from a standing start.

I did look at the IS350 as well before getting my G37 and found it to be a very good automobile. It was not quite as exciting and the dealers would not let me order one like I wanted.

One thing I am happy about was getting the G37S without the sunroof. The sunroof adds over 100 pounds of weight to the top of the car and subtracts over 1" headroom. The sunroof hurts performance and handling.

Yep but you are referring to the Sedan.. This is regarding the previous generation G35 coup vs G37.

And you are right the 1/4 mile numbers are a much more true indication of a cars accleration than 0-60 especially when the difference is mere tenths of a second at such a low speed. It is actually possible to be at a speed 60 MPH before someone else and yet be behind them- granted you would be reeling them in. Distance over time is always a much better measure.
