Wow, this car is fast!!
From Car and Driver. The G37 is .1 faster than the G35. Can you really "feel" that much of a difference? haha
G35
60-mph mark gets gulped in 5.5 seconds,
a quarter-mile in 14.1 at 101 mph
G37
Zero to 60 mph: 5.4 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 14.0 sec @ 100 mph
IS350
Zero to 60 mph: 5.1 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 13.7 sec @ 104 mph

I am a real world driver and my autox days are behind me. I find where I need power is from anywhere from about 60 - 100. This is the passing zone and you need to pass people in a hurry to avoid other obstacles especialy on 2 lane roads.
I did not own a G35 though I have driven a 2003 and 2005 but the G37 may be faster from say 60 - 100 and the driver may be feeling that. It is impossible to say from reading magazine 1/4 mile numbers. It is that simple.
I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and if they owned both cars then I tend to believe what they say.

I wish people would quit relying so mcuh on the magazine numbers. They are such a waste and so pointless. Yes they give a relative idea of the speed of a car but they are only rating the car from a stop to 60 and then the 1/4 mile time. You are also rating a single drivers experience vs a different drivers experience and times. The numbers are meaningless other thank you know the car averages the high 13s/low 14s. How often do you street race from a stop?

I agree with this. A few months ago I said I need to change my sig to "40-80" or something like that. I absolutely love my G and find that there are more places to play with it in the mid power band than on the dig.

Your cars numbers dont mean much if you cant back it with driving skills.

I was on the way home from wrk Early sat morning (2:45 am)
I hit the 101 Freeway and a G35 Coupe was a little ahead of me in the middle lane.
I pulled along side him doing 65 Mph- wide open lanes ahead.
I waved and pressed down slightly...looked down at the speed-I was clocking 80 Mph- Wasn't expecting that-didn't really feel any surge.
Came off the gas checked all mirrors for CHiPs-all clear.
Chilled at 70 Mph till the Van Nuys off ramp which I took at 55 Mph with no issues.
Never did see the G35 Coupe again.
This G37s (Fully loaded) is by far the best handling car I've ever owned.
I will be paying more attention to my speed during the early morning hours though.

I assume you wanted a little luxury too? I am just curious why you made such a change.

In the 1/4 mile by magazine numbers, it is faster. Again, you are looking at very limited picture by going to by the 1/4 mile though.
I test drove the iS350 and the car did not inspire me or make me say WOW or anything like that. It is a nice car and has a good engine but it ranked low on the FUN or WOW factor in my eyes.
Anyone looking into the G37 should certainly look at the IS350 also.
