Would've been nice today. I ran outside in my underwear to start the car this morning so the ice would melt off.

I dont know why they dont include it in New cars..?

I know some Domestic Cars come with the option to add it, if they can put so much technology and push button ignition whats Auto-Start to them..?

$149? Everything is already there. All they have to do is have the firmware do it.

^ can you elaborate on that? it'd be hella nice if all that was needed was a flash to enable remote-start capability...

He is just talking in General, Theres no Flash to do it, You have to have many things done to get it properly installed, including a Intelligent Key Transmitter or something near the Ignition to Let it do Auto-Start, theres a Reason it costs $500+ to get done, but it would be nice to just update the Navigation or something and add new features like that haha, maybe even add HP

I got mine for under $250.
But it seems to me all the parts are already in place. When you use your remote unlock your doors from inside your house the car knows it's your remote. So since the security is already there. It seems like instead of sending the signal on the CAN buss to unlock the doors, Infiniti the same signal that is sent when you push the regular start button in the car.

Build a robotic device to sit over the start button...

throw your remote towards your car in a plastic bag wrapped in bubble wrap, hit the button on your remote to activate the robotic arm button... PPOOFF! the car starts!

Up here in the Great White North there are remote starters for under $100 and can be easily installed by anyone... they sell them at big box stores. I guess it's a common thing for us so it's cheap.

You cant install some generic stuff into a G and even if you can, it takes some labour, I am trying to find out myself How to get it installed?
