Just thought I would let you all know that I placed my order for a Super Black Skyline 370GT Type SP with the 6-speed yesterday. The sales guy told me that I may have to wait until February for delivery, which is outrageous. He said that the factory is having trouble keeping up with demand from around the world for the car. I guess that is a good thing, but what is normally a 2 or 3 week waiting for a car in Japan has turned into a 3 month waiting period.

I guess I just get that much more time to thrash my 350GT before the new one comes, and the prices are already agreed upon for trade-in and the price of the car so the longer it takes them the more money they risk losing on my trade-in. Sure am glad they were hot to sell me the car, otherwise I could have really taken it in the rear on the trade-in.

Sorry I have to make you all wait for months before I can post pictures of the new ride, but will keep you all posted.

Also just got a call from the sales guy and he mentioned that I may get lucky and get the car early. Apparently there is a car just like mine that is in the cue to be made and the owner decided to change his mind on the color. If they can get the other dealership to agree to give up the car, then I may get earlier delivery than February. Praying to the gods of production and palm greasing that they will let me get the car early.

so how much are you payin for your car? did you have to make a deposite? I hope you don't have to wait til feb to get your ride. that would suck. i won'der if i'll have to wait. I get there in feb, and i hope i won't have to wait til like jun to get it.

Awesome, now if you can only distract yourself for 3 months with "other" stuff. Let me be the first to make a suggestion, how about some High Def Japanese TV programs, Video Games work too, Anime Movies etc.

Oh yeah, plan for sports and other recreation etc.

Thanks for all the suggestions on passing the time until the car arrives. I am hoping that they will be able to get me the earlier spot so I don't have to wait too long. I will probably pass the time by taking the current car to the track a few times, now that I know I don't have to replace the tires I might as well use them up. Oh, and I will pick apart all the parts I don't like about the 350GT and remember that they have improved them on the 370GT.

The car stickered at 5 million yen (roughly $43500) and this includes all taxes and other fees for buying a car in Japan, but I worked them hard on the car and they came down $5000. This will be the 4th Nissan from them in 5 or so years, so they need to take a hit every now and then. And no I did not need to make a deposit, so that is a good thing too.

So is it February yet?
