Would you accept a damaged G37?
I agree, tough call! It's really up to you. Go with your gut feeling. If it bothers you, I would suggest not taking it unless the offer you something that really makes that feeling go away. I don't think you want to be thinking about it after you take ownership of the car.
If it's going to weigh on your mind, then I would suggest not taking it.

I would not take a concession because in a few months the concession that they give you now will be the discount of later cars. Not worth it. Your car will already be lower resale value even if you get it fixed. I would get a new car. It sucks to have to wait longer, but it would be worth it in the end. Or get one shipped from a nearby dealer.
You could try and have them repaint it, and tell them if it meats your standards, you will accept it with the concession, but if it doesn't, you will request a new car. If you don't take it, they will have to get it repainted anyway.
The only downside is if the paint doesn't come out right, it will take a couple days longer than if you just had them order a new one. However, if it does come out right (and some shops are quite good these days), you get the car quicker.

This is true as well.
id accept no less than $1500 off the car price + fix (at their cost) at a location of my choosing.
and if its a dealer that is very liberal in pricing, id probably tell them i want $2k off + fix as above and see where we go from there.
but if they couldnt hit my minimum id take another with no hard feelings.

Definitely a tough call. I don't think the dealer would knock much off the price. If you choose not to take it, they'll probably just repaint it and sell it brand new.
The scratch would definitely bother me enough not to take the car. I'll probably wait for another one or go to another dealer.

Absolutely.
Another reason, when you go to trade it in, a car that has had damage repaired, especially involving paint work, has diminished value. And don't think they can't find it!
As painful as it may be, order another car, and demand a loaner until it comes in.

I'd wait. By the time you get your new car prices should have come down anyway. Who knows, you might actually get a better deal on an undamaged vehicle...
Thanks so much everyone. After sleeping on it over the weekend, I'm coming out where most people did - to not take a car with damage. I thought long and hard about what kind of "price concession" would make it worth my while, but you're right, the dealer probably won't give much (since they likely think they can paint it and probably pass it off on someone who won't notice), and whatever discount they give now will probably be the same discount I could get in a couple of months anyway on an undamaged car. You're right about trade-in time or sale in the future, it will always be a car with paint work, and discounted for it.
I've waited this long for the car, as frustrating as it is, I guess another couple of months won't kill me...
