I did the same. I liked the way the 5's werent so direct. It seemed brighter to me as well. I do like the idea of using a 5 in the trunk. I need to see if there is a brighter one. It is still a bit on the dark side for me....
It's fun to experiment!!!

Is there any reason why a slightly larger bulb wouldn't fit? I'm considering getting the 75 degree angle 12 LED bulbs for the map lights, door courtesy lamps, and the trunk and the 6 LED bulbs for the license plate. The ones you have are 1.125" x .5" and the 12 LED ones are 1.20" x .6". I doubt that it is that tight a fit but I thought I'd ask before I buy.

^^ good question. Get a set to experiment? lol

I'm already had PIAA super white lying around when i got the car, so put those in the license plate and replaced city light in headlights... now time to do the rest!

I'm gonna experiment with havin a black light for my map lights... would look crazy and prolly have no functional lights... but oh well! as someone above said, experimenting is fun. =p

Some of these lights say they have a built-in voltage regulator, and some say polarized, while others say not polarized....
anyone kno if it make a difference, or if there is something specific to stay away from?

I am back with answers (however i seem to have misplaced my camera at the wors time! )

The 75 degree angle 12 LED bulb fits everywhere, except the license plate.

There is one caveat tho... it will fit in the trunk, u just cant quite close the plastic dome cover.... which to me doesnt matter cuz either way all u see is the light. The plastic dome is not visible to us anyway.

I didn't like the 12 LED in the dome cuz it was WAAAY too bright. Like sunshine in there at night.

I didn't like the 12 LED in the DOOR either cuz, while it was amazingly bright and cool looking (like entering into a alien space ship when u open the door) you can see the bright "spot" in the lens and it looks kinda cheap, in daytime also.

I really like the 5 LED radialy mounted, because it "fills" out nicely and so it "glows" throughout the entire lens.

I do admit i am still torn about the Door lights.

Do you guys who have ordered, regret or wanna change the door light to something else? If so, what do u have now, what do u wanna change to, and why the change?

I love the LIGHT output of the 12 LEDs, but not sure if i like the spotty look in the lens. Buthen again, who will notice that anyway... besides ME.

I need some input
