We all knew this thread was coming....

Having gotten "official" numbers on weight, where do you think it lies and what can be done to it.
I'm curious what a bone stock / base model g37 weighs...

Sources:
1) Bigger brakes - I don't mind this weight, wont be putting in smaller rotors any time soon
2) Engine - Again wont be doing an engine swap soon
3) Wheels and Tires - Can be replaced with a lighter higher performance set w/o "taking away from the car's current ride"
4) 20.9 Gallon Gas Tank - I dont know what the current g35's is but the 335i has a 15.9 gallon tank, so if you can run half full lol should save you a few pounds...
5) Options - 6 CD Changers vs 1, sunroof, etc, if your a stickler for weight dont get them....

What else do you guys have?

you gotta take out back seats, passenger seat. you gotta replace your seat with light race ones, you gotta replace all metal sheet with carbon fiber, change the wheels like you said.
and MOST IMPORTANTLY make sure you have only 1 CD in your changer. the rest of the 5 add lots of weight hhahaha

Every ounce counts at this point....
wouldnt a 6 cd changer still weigh 2-5 pounds more than a single disk? (motor for changing, disk storage, etc)

Taking the seats out is great, but IF we can, lets try to keep the car close to "stock", just to see how much weight can be "shaved" off while keeping the car "relatively stock"

put less gas in your car before the big race or the big showdown at the stoplight or..or..or.. 1 gallon of gasoline equals 5.8 to 6.5 lbs.

as a pilot i don't always fill up the plane in order to handle weight and perfomance challenges. if getting every last ounce of performance from your ride is important enough.. consider doing the same.

Take out your headliner, rip off your dash and door panels, all carpeting, all seats minus driver seat, put on 16 inch rims that clear big calipers, replace windshields and all glass with plexi, and umm....oh yeah...take out the airbags , you wont need those either
