If [the person] can buy it when it becomes available this summer/fall, and likes it, he should just buy it.

Why wait?
If a later year car, can have different problems then the first year car, what's the point of assuming an, for instance, 09 will be better than an 08?
There isnt any point in assuming.
Just my opinion.

I'll be waiting, not for them to fix the kinks but for the fever to die down a little. I'm not ready to pay above MSRP. I've been waiting for a long time to buy a new car (current is a Dodge Stealth RT/TT) so I'm in no rush.

I got my 06 with a 1 year lease for the purpose of getting the new coupe. Now I'm not so sure. Doesn't look like the look will be so much different. Plus, I've put a few mods on my 06 and want to do more. Lastly, paying $300 a month to insure the new coupe is not something I want to do. Leasing a sports car causes a premuim insurance rate. I can buy my 06 and pay half that.
However, nothing like a brand new model car.
So....I'm still undecided. I'll wait until I see it to decide.

Ewwww get her out of here, i'd much rather see a full pic of the 08 coupe!
haha, well Aishwarya is aaiight, except when she opens her mouth to speak. Now when the G opens up, she purrrsssss so sweetly!
Yes i kno.. i have issues. Ok back on topic, when the G is released I'd try to pick one ASAP. I wonder if i should look into putting deposit down and reserving, or just go one day when its out and try to buy.

I don't know. I'll most likely test drive it and see what I think.

There would only be major problems if the '08 was completely different from the 1st gen G-Coupe. Since there are not dramtic differences in body or engine, due to the fact that the 3.7 has been tested in the GT-R for like the last 2 years, it will be fine. Can't wait for them to come out, been waiting so long!!

when it comes out, i'll probably look at it all around in detail, and review the specs. there are way too many new cars coming out within the next 1-2 years to jump at purchasing anything just yet.

i feel the same with alotta people here. i think im gonna love the new coupe but im not gonna jump the gun just yet. however, i also wont be modding my car too much until i see exactly what the new coupe got. that 3.7 def. sounds good.
if i do decide to get the G37 coupe, it prob be 09.. want to wait a year for hype to die down a bit so it wont be overpriced like all new hyped cars.. and also let them workout the bugs on the first year cars..
of course, there are also so many other new cars coming out.. so many choices.
dont get me wrong tho, i still love my 05, but seriously, i see sooo many Gs on the road, it feels soo slow now, and just doenst have the overall quality compare to the newer cars. i think the new G def. measures up to bmw, lexus, etc. very well.
dont forget, the new audi A5 coupe is super hot as well.. i think that will be a hit on the market along with the new G37.. who knows, 08 350Z could be hot too (redesign and named 370Z??)..

I honestly cant see the point of upgrading from the current coupe to this new coupe, they just look way too similar.
If its more performance you want then there are far better choices out there than an 08 G coupe.
the only car i would seriously consider giving up my 06 for is a 335i.
