G37 key fob

What's up fellow G owners. I came here to hopefully find a solution for my dead key fob that stopped working because I went into the jacuzzi with it. in order to start my car I have to put the key inside the fob insert which is fine but I wonder if anyone knows why it stopped working. It has been months and I deep-cleaned inside the key and motherboard so I am going to get a new battery today as well. If anyone knows what I can do before dropping $500+ for a new key and program let me know, please.

You can grab used fobs off of EBay or other sites for $50. Stay away from aftermarket ones. Program at the dealer or take to a certified locksmith. Can have up to 4 programmed at a time. They charge $80 to program. https://www.batteriesplus.com/

What is the issue with aftermarket fobs? And, are you suggestions Batteries Plus for the programming only and not the fob?

In my experience the aftermarket fobs don't work all that well sometimes. Plus the oem fob is only like $50. And I suggested them because they program fobs for way less than the dealer does. You can grab fobs from them if you want, if they sell oem ones.

Have you tried just replacing the battery on the fob? That's the part that usually gets nuked by an immersion.
