2010 G37 Dealer is asking for engine replacement on CS ses Light
CS SES LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE IS NOT RUNNING NORMAL Cause: engine is pushing exhaust gas into coolant causing coolantlevel to rise. coolant reservoir is over filled. car is missfiring on multi cylinders. long block needed.
Please suggest on this!
Miles : 129K
Model : 2010 G37s convertible
Engine : V6
Transmission : Automatic
Prior to this issue . Six months back I got issue with p0402 code . The dealer asked me to replace the coils , 6 injectors which cost me around $2k . However I still have the issue and the dealer is asking me to replace the engine
Please suggest on this!

P0402 is EGR code which our cars do not have.
If you had the dealer replace the coils and injectors why didnt you continue to follow up with the dealer. Sadly by taking the car back with this issue you made the problem worse. A misfiring engine can definitely develop issues. Ex: a bad injector can cause leaning issues which heat up the engine excessively and put more strain on the coolant system.
Odds are that you put additional strain in the cooling system, developed a leak and it overheated, blew the head gasket and now pushing exhaust gasses into the cooling system.
Regardless, we are at the time where engine replacement is cheaper than fixing the current engine so stay away from anyone who tells you any different.
Why? OEM headgaskets and fluid will be 80% of the cost of a new engine and labor to fix a VQ head gasket competes with engine replacement labor.
Thanks for the response brother!
All the services are always done with Infiniti dealer .
initially I had misfire didn’t know the code . The dealer gave me the quote for $1996 and the job done .
Following next week , I had same issue took the dealer and the dealer replaced the coil and gave me the quote $490 .
After this service the car ran well for another 6 months no issues .
Last week as Sep 11 2023 . I ran into same issue again of misfire . I took the car to dealer for diagnosis
The dealer asked me to replace the engine and gave quote for 20+k
I’m trying to figure it out whether to keep the car or sell it at this moment
