Top won't close- Roof in Operation light comes briefly on

Hello! First, I want to once again thank this forum - you've saved me ALOT of time, money, and headaches.
I have a new problem I've not quite seen before - a week or so ago, the top would not close, and I did find that the upper trunk latch was REALLY loose. I tightened it, and it immediately worked again.
But today, my wife washed the car, and after cleaning the inside (with the top open), it won't close.
The trunk latch is fine, I replaced the fob battery just in case, and I reset the car battery a couple of times, but it still won't close. The battery (per multimeter) is reading around 12.5 V when the car is off, and 14.5 V when it's running. I don't see any frayed wires or other suspect stuff.
What makes this different from anything I've seen is this - a week or so ago the 'roof in operation' warning was on the whole time the top was open, and the car had a constant, ANNOYING beep until I tightened the trunk latch.
Now, the 'roof in operation' light comes on for just a second or so on start-up, and goes away. When I try to close the top I get the single beep when I hit 'Close,' and the double beep when I release the button.
Also, the red security (car in key) light is blinking when I turn the car off, and the car double beeps (from the rear) every 10 seconds or so.
I was just checking to see if you all had any suggestions further than what I've done at this point, before I go to the dealer. Our nearest Infiniti dealer is an hour away, so I try to make those visits as rare as I can.
thanks!!

Update if it helps anyone - Apparently the loose trunk latch that I had fixed the previous week had thrown the system off enough that, even after I fixed the latch, the convertible would not operate correctly, as described above.
So luckily the local Nissan dealer was able to hook up to the Consult device and get the top working correctly. It was a blessing because my wife only had to drive 30 minutes or so with the loud beeping, rather than an hour (plus) to the Infiniti dealer.
