Always carry a 10mm

BTW, I went for a drive to the mountains yesterday (Mt Rainier in WA state) and before I got to the beginning of the long pass, I decided to put the top down.

Well...I was stopped and I put the top down...STUCK. "Trunk open."

Couldn't do anything. Usually I can stop the motor, restart, and at least close it. Nope.

pulled over. Thank goodness guy in a food truck had a metric toolset I can borrow so I can unhook the battery. Unhooking the battery for about 10 minutes, I was able to close the roof.

Of course, now that I was able to close it, tried to open it. Nope; "Trunk open." error. Had to turn off engine and restart so I can close it.

Wife was NOT PLEASED. After getting yelled at, decided not to mess with it anymore.

Moral of the story...ALWAYS carry a 10mm to unhook the battery!

I have a feeling I have some sensor issue, as when I got home (w/the roof closed), I decided to open the trunk and w/a healthy thud, close it.

Now the roof was able to open up.

That's good advice.

I keep a ratchet with a deep socket 10mm in the glovebox. Been doing that for 20 years after the first time I bought a Nissan. Almost all of the little retaining bolts throughout the car are 10mm.

Everyone should carry some sort of small tool kit (mine came w/ a small Nissan kit).

Also, the G37- and many Nissan's- already come with a 10mm wrench (also used to unlock shifter):

GODDAMMIT!

Now I got the "Roof in Operation" problem w/the roof stuck open.

No amount of resetting the battery will fix this. Time to talk to the dealer again and have them reset it.
