Opinions? Would You Buy A 2011 Convertible w/ 64K Miles (Timing Gasket Related)
I have a 2009 with 65k miles. I had low oil pressure which was fixed at the dealer. Cost 4500. I also have a battery drain issue I am trying to figure out. Other than that the car is awesome. The manual is nice feature for a weekend car. The top seams to be stout. The top does leak when it rains. The dealer couldn’t find anything wrong. We have learned to make sure it’s in the garage when it rains. I think these are very rare and there may be only about 2000 made in convertible manual.
Let's put it this way...a timing gasket/water pump is about $4k tops.
A broken top is ~$15k. Of course, other issues can crop up, which probably ranges from a $200 computer re-learn, to a broken flapper ($1500) to bad pump ($2k I think).
Mine doesn't leak and unfortunately, I have to leave it outside in the wonderful weather of Seattle.
I say go for it, but look into a extended warranty and make SURE they will cover the top.
