Hi Linda,
dont know if you found a solution to your broken flap problem but, i sell metal gears to replace broken oem, instead of changing whole linkage unit sold by the dealer ( they dont sell gears replacement). Its not hard to change...some rivets ti drill and replace to remove flap arm, open gear case and replace by those i provide. Take around 30 min. For each side and there's a tutorial on the forum shows step by step how to do.
Cost way less than changing linkage assy. E-mail me in pv if you need more infos and price. guy.menard305@videotron.ca
thanks!

Hi Guy Menard,

No I have not found a solution for my convertible flap. Thank you for offering the metal gears, but I do not know how to remove the gears to replace unfortunately.

Hello Linda,
I understand bu it i can suggest...There is a tutorial with photos on the forum, tpopic"newbie with flippers trouble" on page 3. I'm pretty sure you can find a mecanic who will be able to get the job easily and at lower cost than go to the dealer and have to change the complete linkage, who is around 1300$+ labor.

up to you! Unfortunatly, you dont have many choices if you want to enjoy your vert again!
let me know.

I just put in a set of Guy's gears. It's an easy fix if you follow the video. If you can't do it I'll bet you have a friend who can help. The replacement flipper assemblies are $1100 each from infiniti and are currently on backorder with no delivery date available. Heck, if you can figure out how to remove the assemblies and send them to me I'll put the gears in.

I even had to put a new pump in and reset the top. This is actually a pretty easy car to work on after coming from a Mercedes SL550. Usually I'd be in Vegas once a month but covid and my health has put that on hd until at least summer.

Passenger side convertible flap gear

Hello @n559br and Guy,

Thank you for the note and offering to assist. It looks like I only need the main plastic gear piece switched out. I will contact Guy and inquire about it.

Thanks again guys!
Linda

They work as great as new oem ones but, they are most durable than the cheap plastic oem.
Some of you ask me if i got more in stock. I sell the one left that i had but, others were instrested to get one or two so, i ask my guy to made more for me. I have 6 (3 right and 3 left ) in production. 3 of them are already sold. I'm not sure if i'll be able to get some more machined so.

If some of you are serious and want one or two, you can e mail me at : guy.menard305@videotron.ca.

I also adjust the price lower ( cost me less for second batch) at 500$ usd for a pair and 260$usd for one side only.

it wont last forever!!!

Thanks!
Guy Ménard

Broken Convertible Aluminium Bracket

Hi guys!

I need your help..

I replaced the plastic gears with Guy’s metal gears and now the flaps work great, but my convertible is still not working.

We realized a aluminium bracket broke when the convertible top got stuck. Is anyone familiar with that part or know the part number/ name so I can search for it? A video and photos of the broken part is below.

Thank you!
Linda

I’ve searched these numbers but nothing comes up.

can you zoom out so we kind of know where that bracket is located? Maybe edit the picture and circle it in RED?

That looks like part of the parcel shelf.

I'm thinking it's part of the parcel shelf - 79910-JJ51A.

If that's the case, that's a pricey part and I wouldn't even know where to start to replace it. :|

Broken Convertible Aluminium Bracket

Thanks for your response guys!

@teahead I will try to get a better photo of where the bracket is located

@n559br Yes, it’s part of that assembly

@kiseliok Yes, it’s part of the parcel shelf, but I was hoping it would be a case like the gears where I don’t have to replace the entire assembly. I looked at the link you sent and am trying to determine the exact part number
