All-new Nissan Skyline coming in 2013 - AMG engine likely to be fitted!

From this article - Japanese Car Design Corner /
"The all new Nissan Skyline (earlier post), aka Infiniti G, which is known internally as the V37, will hit the markets in 2013 and according to Japanese Best Car magazine, a V8 may be fitted (113M55), which will be a tuned down version of Merc's engine fitted in a number of AMG models. The power output is expected to be around 360 ps.
A hybrid model will be also introduced, which is going to be coupled to the VQ35HR V6 engine. The fuel efficiency of the hybrid model should be around 20.0 km/L."

Let's not forget that the new 5.5L twin turbo and older 6.3L AMG engines put out 500+ HP and the "regular" MB 5.5L V8 and new 4.4L twin turbo V8 put out 382 HP and 402 HP respectively. It makes no sense to produce a "tuned down" version of either AMG V8 when the regular V8s will produce more power than what's described here.

Their spy shots are OK but when they provide drawings based on "insider info" they're usually just making stuff up.
Going up to a V8 doesn't make much sense for the 40-50k next gen G, most manufacturers are going from V8's to more fuel/power efficient DI turbo'd V6's and such (BMW, Audi). MB still has the AMG V8's but honestly I wouldn't want a "tuned down AMG V8" making 360hp in a G, thats only 30more hp for V6-V8. Nissan has already demonstrated they know how to TT a V6 with the GTR, they should just use a "tuned down" single turbo V6 if they want power gains no? I did read Nissan and Mercedes made engine sharing deals but if there is going to be an AMG engine in an Infiniti it should be the full 450hp+ for the 60k+ performance model.

Fail!!! If it looks like that and I'm sure it won't I def would not be buying another G. What they should do is take the essence front end and put it on like a member did here and either put direct injection on the current 3.7 L as the s model and for the next iteration of the IPL the should either retune a GTR motor (single turbo) or drop the fx 50 5.0L v8. But pleAse keep the look similR to current model with some essence influence.
This looks like the Etherea posted in another thread

really hope the "design language" is not heading this way for the G
