Very, very nice, Jon.

That yellow 996 is gorgeous.

Do you always use the Porter Cable buffer when you put on Z-5? Is that because Z-5 is more of a polish?

Thanks.

I have been waiting for someone to ask that. I've been reading up on other people trying the Zaino products with the PC. There are pros and cons of course, but I'll try and summarize.

First downside, you use more product using the PC. On the other hand, from what I've read people seem to think the coats go on more consitently/evenly. This may be true if you are new to applying the product, but I am confident that I'm pretty consistent by hand.

Another plus is the amount of time it takes to apply to the entire car; obviously faster with the PC. I think the debate begins when you try and determine if there is any real "polishing" advantage of hand application vs. PC with Z-5. I tend to think there isn't any, but this car turned out pretty fantastis, possibly as a result of me using the PC.

My intial walk around the car impression was that it was looking very dull and had a decent number of surface scratches and imperfections. Also, in case you haven't been around one of these in person, older Bentleys and Rolls are ENORMOUS lol - so time was a consideration. Don't get me wrong it was a little scary taking the PC to a $400k car, but I think the results speak for themselves.

I used a very soft finishing pad @ 3.5 on the dial and went for it. I think the car really benefitted from the consistentency of the PC, the generous amount of Z-5 (especially with its "fillers"), and of course the gentle touch of waynestowels microfibers.

I expect to be doing his 996 Turbo in a few weeks and by then I'll have the new Z-5Pro so hopefully I can get some idea of any differences since the Turbo is in just as bad shape.

Super Detailing........

Thanks for the great gallery/photos Jon, I don't live
close to you or I would stop by. I've been using the
Zymol cleaner and Concourse wax for several years
and very pleased with the excellent results. In your
opinion is there anything on the market better?

I have the Zymol products in my "line-up" but I find that I'm using them less and less. I got my start on HD Cleanse and the various concourse waxes, but they just don't hold up.

Right now I primarily use Pinnacle Liquid Souveran (carnuba selection) and my specialty... Zaino Show Car Polish (sealant selection). Both are very durable, much easier to use then the Zymol products, and IMO look just as good.

Most of the cars in my gallery are Zaino (just check the descriptions on the main page). The HUGE advantage Zaino offers is that you can layer it and you simply can't do that (with any advantage or success with carnubas). I know people really like Klasse AIO as well, but that's not a product I have used as much.

Hope this helps.

Jon
