I was leaving a friend's place last night, and a Metro-Dade cop was just hiding out with his lights off, I flew past, and I got a ticket for 57 in a 40; Though I must admit the guy was pretty cool about it, as he could of been a *****. Any recommendations? I got my FHP one taken care of ticket clinic, but I ended up having to pay for court fees, so it ended up costing about $180. I know Jose mentioned some guy he uses...

 

reading this reminded me of this one time i went to the dentist, i had to have my first tooth actually removed, i had never been on medical grade nitrous before and he hooked me up. i was just sitting there and the dentist said, "Jeremy, you are going to feel a little ***** in your mouth.." i said " **** you, you better turn that gas up a whole lot more before you go trying that !! "

 

Dude, you need to buy a Prius! At least you would have only been going 25mph by the time you got to that cop.

 

In discussing with my co-workers, it appears this may fall under entrapment. The cop was there, with his lights off in a dark area (I didn't see him until I flew past him) Regardless ,it's going to a ticket lawyer of some sort.

In my experience, when using a clinic (I use the Traffic Ticket Office in North Miami) I only have had to pay court fees in Broward. In Dade, it just goes away.

 

if they are in a dark area they have to have their parking lights on atleast.
if they are in a lit area they dont have to have their lights on

 

Yeah Jose and I have this guy in Hollywood, but isn't he going to charge you more for a ticket in Dade? I've always had to pay court fees for all my Broward tickets. Don't know about Dade, took my last ticket to the Ticket Clinic on Coral Way I think and I'm still awaiting my court date.

 

That last two times I went to traffic court for a speeding ticket, the judge withheld adjudication and did not assess points for people with decent driving records. I still had to pay court costs though.

 

That's what the law says about the lights. But trying to prove that is a WHOLE different case!!!

 

i never had to pay court fees w/ Jason Diamond, but u are 17 over the speed limit which is a lot, worst case scenario, u pay court fees, but no points or traffic school.

I just got a ticket too but in Tampa. When I was in Ft. Lauderdale, I always used the ticket clinic and never got a point on my license.

 

Ok, the cop was cool, you got busted for it, you dont deny that you werent going that fast, why dont you pay your dues for breaking the law and be done with it? You will probably spend more money trying to beat it than just paying the ticket. 57 in a 40, on a dark road.. just my 2 cents.

 

Yeah, I agree. I'll send it to ticket clinic and be done with it.. not a big deal. I'm not trying to deny it.. though I think I am itching for a Valentine 1 right about now.
