The new numbers of 8.5 245/40 and 9.5 275/40 is more conservative, but should work well if the offsets are right.

 

Man, I am all over the map on this...
I keep seeing TONS of guys with 10" and 10.5" wheels. Have you guys all done anything truly special for that type of fittament? I mean, if I am even going down to an 18" wheel, the diameter is actually going to be shorter, though clearly, this will be a wider set up. I know RUBBING is the main issue, but do you guys truly have this problem???

Secondly, not only am I looking for wider, I'd love to have a wider lip on the wheel, though, I do not want 30lb wheels, either. I am trying to stay under $500 a wheel, and I really do not want to get Volks regardless of how good they may be...Any thoughts/ideas from anyone???

If I stay with the 18x9.5's, I may just go with 5Zigen FN01R-C's in black...

Hey--what width wheel, and what tire size are you running up front as well? Offset for that, too???

I'd still like to track the car every now and then at some point and going to 18's--even after talking to Axis--even though they are wide should still cause no rubbing with the right offset, right?

I feel like I am sooooooooo overthinking this, but I want functional wheels that do look good, any my tastes are a little different than most...

 

I'm running Maya GR5's 20x9 +26 offset front and 20x10.5 +29 offset rear. The tires are BFG KDW2's 255/30/20 front and 285/30/20 rear.

Not at all... there's a lot to think about when squeezing a set on wide tires on a G35.

Check out this tire/size/offset web page. It's about the best I've seen for figuring out tire sizes and offsets.

Well, what's the offset of the stock wheels??? Anyone know that (I am searching as well speak)?

 

I'm thinking 30 front and 33 rear since they are 8 inches wide in front and 8.5 in the rear.

Hey I have 19x9 and 19x11 HRE's, these are only 27-30lb each and so they have good width, little weight and didnt have to modify anything, no rubbing at all.
