Cam sprocket Encoder ring slip issues

I recently had a problem with my car not starting. Only way is would start is if I pulled off cam sensor on bank 2. Then it would start but in limp mode...can't rev past 3k rpm.

2 weeks later I found out the problem. The encoder ring on the cam sprocket bank 2 (Left) which is the driver side had slipped. It spun CCW from the TDC dot. It was supposed to be at tooth #7 CCW from dot. It is at tooth #9. I knocked the encoder ring back to tooth #7 . Car started right up. Problem solved for now...

Now my question is had anyone did something similar and are there any solutions to prevent the ring from slipping again without replacing it with a whole new sprocket assembly?

Hey so I have this same issue and was wondering how everything turned out for you.
I was going to use liquid nitrogen to remove the ring, and reinstall with green loctite. Curious what your thoughts were on this.

These ring slip beacuse of runaway temps, runaway temps + low pressures.

It's impossible to avoid unless you fix the main causes + maybe replace the gear with new or wel the ring.
