P0340 issue. Replaced cam and crank sensors. Now

Hi everyone,

SO at first I checked the code and got P0340, P0345, and P0011. Car was in limp mode and would not rev over 3k RPM. Car took about 4 seconds to start up. I cleared the codes and was only getting a P0340. I replaced the passenger side cam position sensor and the code still came up. Then, I replaced the Crank position sensor thinking maybe that was the problem to begin with. Now the car won't even start. It will crank for about 1 second before it turns over, turns right off as soon as it ignites. Now no codes are being thrown unless i let it sit for a while and try to start it will throw P0340 again and not starting. I am puzzled. All connections are secured. I hope I am overlooking something simple. I checked all connections and grounds. I am thinking maybe the sensor plate on the sprocket may be bad or possibly the sprocket itself. I would like to cover every angle before I dig in too far. Anyone else have this issue? I know the code is a notorious one but the typical cam sensor replacement didn't change a thing. I just find it weird how right after i changed the crank sensor this started happening.

Might not be a sensor issue at all, but a wiring issue.

I just checked the wiring after your comment. I stripped the loom quite a ways and it looks fine. Maybe I should check the ecu area. I wish i had a scanner with live data. Any other suggestions or anyone heard of this problem?

I think you need a proper diagnosis. Trouble codes are only part of the tools used to troubleshoot. Get the engine on a scope to see what's really happening.
