i bought an oil gauge that reads both oil temp and pressure but i'm not sure where the best place to plug the sensors would be
my mocal sandwich plate does not have pre tapped ports so my plan is to tee off the oem oil switch and temp sensor locations
the oil switch should be straightforward by using a widely available npt tee fitting but from my understanding, the temp sensor is m12x1.25 and i havent been able to easily find an adapter to add the gauge npt sensor to
would running both temp + pressure sensors off the switch be a bad idea? there are adapters like these with dual npt ports that could combine the gauge temp/pressure sensor and the oem switch into one
would there be a risk of the 3 sensors applying too much force on the block threads and risking damage or making them more likely to back out? any other ideas?
also wasnt sure which section to post this in so mods feel free to move if needed
so my solution will be to tee off the oem pressure switch for the gauge oil pressure and get oil temp by adding the AN with npt port fitting to the hot side of my oil cooler line like the one below https://www.anhosefittings.com/an-ma...port-10-a.html
First off be aware the threads in the "case" are BSPT not NPT !
forcing one into the other will crack
I ordered an 1/8" BSP tee and chased the one female port with an 1/8" NPT tap for the aftermarket gauge sensor
but i think Z1 and Concept Z both have a bisexual tee available
The in line AN adaptor sounds good too, just make sure its threads match your new sensor(s)
