Oil Temp Gauge?

Has anyone hooked up an oil temp gauge? I was thinking, would it be hard to hook the 370z oem oil temp gauge to the g37? Or any aftermarket ones? And also does installing one require you to drill into anything?

You can also buy a bluetooth OBDII reader (costs about $25) and use the Torque app on your phone, then you can add gauges to the display of your phone as much as you want.

The torque app only goes off the factory sensors. Since there's no factory oil temp sensors for the g37, the torque app won't show it. I have the torque app. You can put in the after market sensor off of the oil pressure sender above the oil pan or tap the pan and put in your own.

Oil Temp Gauge?

That 's not completely true. Yes Torque only reads the default sensors... by default. When you download the Infiniti extension you are able to read out the Infiniti specific sensors. One of these sensors it the VVT Oil Temperature.

See the Torque page below for the plugins.

For me this works on my G37s coupe from 2008 with the bluetooth iCar OBDII tool from Vgate.

Maybe I go a bit off topic so another solution can be an oil sensor adaptor ring. Then you don't have to drill holes or something. But I'm not sure if there is enough space for it in an G37 engine bay.

Not looking to use the torque app or anything like that, I have uprev so I can monitor everything. I just wanted to see if anyone has installed a oil temp gauge on the g37, so I can watch it while driving

The app shows to be $9.99, does the infiniti expansion cost anything?

Is there any difference between the infiniti addon and the nissan addon? I got the nissan addon because that's all that was available at the time. Later on the infiniti module was available. I think they're one and the same as cars share the same pids (at least with the same engine 370z/g37).

I have an Innovate MTX-D Oil Temperature / Pressure gauge. Both sensors were installed into my AAM oil pan spacer.

Hmmm so I guess no way for it without tapping the oil pan. Does anyone know how the 370z's oil temp gauge is hooked up to the car?

I had this moved to my sunglasses holder at a later stage.

I re scanned for additional PIDs (engine 0) on the advanced LT version but it gave me an error message " could not release exclusive lock. Please restart torque. " showed an additional 11 PIDs. I'll give torque Admins a call and see what's up. What's your refresh rate?

Oil Temp Gauge?

In my "manage custom OBD PID" list there 25 custom PID's. In the menu the plugin is called "advanced EX for Infiniti", maybe you have a different one?
Refresh rate I don't know, I have to connect to my car. I will come back on this.
